Taking thyroid supplements for hypothyroidism, synthetic or not, does this not increase your chances of cancer of the thyroid. The nodes were random and not caused by thyroid hormone supplementation. If you have not lived on allowances these last 20 years I could not very unhappy with the symptoms. I have participated in the thyroid supplements for a period of more than twenty years.

This is a website of the ACS, the actual risk factors for some cancers of the thyroid checked.

He had thyroid cancer last year, have read a lot about it. But you're right, it is difficult to ascertain. Fortunately I found some information that is good news for you (point 3 below).

Factors that suggest a benign diagnosis:
* Family autoimmune disease (Hashimoto thyroiditis)
* Family history of benign thyroid nodules or goiter
* Presence of a dysfunctional thyroid hormone (eg, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism)
* Pain or tenderness of nodules
* Node soft, smooth, and mobile
