Car Breakdown Quotes How Much Should It Cost To Repair The Head Gaskett On My Ford Ka?

How much should it cost to repair the head gaskett on my Ford Ka? - car breakdown quotes

I have an O2 reg Ford Ka Engine obviously older style! Yesterday, the head gasket is leaving me stranded 200 miles from home in Bedfordshire ... Back in the house and try to repair a place to me and so far I have had quotes from £ 350 to £ arrange 1200th My dad thinks it should cost around 200 pounds. The car is probably not even worth more than 750 pounds.
Its presence in a complex in which an insurance Toom shops would not open on Sunday and towed to my house would cost about 400 pounds. The already cost me £ 52 come with the train home.

I must make a decision whether to repair or to try to ex parte application for a new car I am looking for a new soon anyway ...

I shall obtain as soon as possible, the ID and a half of my property was still correct in the trunk of the car!

Advice and suggestions very welcome! :)

Usually a head gasket does not leave you stranded. If the head gasket just prior to the start:

Valve covers, timing belts and timing belts they remove the camshaft cover, then the head, making light work of 10 hours, let alone the head cleaned and checked for cracks. Furthermore, it is the parties who will be replaced:

Cylinder head bolts, cylinder head gasket, timing belt, water pump (if it is driven by the timing belt)

The reason for this is:
Screw heads are disposable, torque (production), slightly above all the expansion, while the pair of them for the first time they are vulnerable when you remove the head, so that will not be reused.
Cylinder head gasket is a fact
Tming belt should be replaced every 60k miles and it usually work 5 hours, while in their power to prevent something you do when the engine interface could be stuck (the valve opens and the piston head strike)
Finally, the water pump should be replaced when the timing belt is changed (if the timing beltTraction), when the water pump is blocked, it will not break the timing belt.

500 € should be the minimum needed to do well. I think that those responsible for 1200 is the worst city is the head must be changed. The vapors can break the head.

Just read your additional data that can be sold, does not mean that you drain the coolant, I begin to see the repair from 1200 to the 350 is far from the base, it is primarily to make it as fast as a mechanic possible, would not the repair time.

No offense to the previous type, but he is very happy. Head gaskets must be fixed and the oil in the coolant is a big problem that the ability of the coolant to work and decreasing the cracked blocks and heads.

If you want to be a jerk to someone, get the engine is set to 350, then sell and get a new one, but it is a very pleasant thing to do. Best of luck.

Hello

Simply remove and reinstall looking forward to 4.4 hours £ 46 per hour, about 202 pounds, work amount and a pressure test and the top layer of about 60 pounds, and parts. I think 500 € would be an approximate figure as the head gasket only.

Sincerely,

Geordie

You will not be able to ex parte in that state - what is purchased?

Depending on the damage, £ 350 to £ 1000 cover - the only alternative is to sell a small amount of parts and scrap.

I went with a bad head gasket for about 2 years, my car is still strong ...

if it is not worthy to follow all dead ..

Your car always die in a bad head gasket, spark plug and clean it every day 2 a.m. to 3 p.m., such as oil and coolant in your car makes it impossible difficult start.
(Purchase or performance plug)

Always check the cooling water and oil level.

if the start is slow, you can buy a battery of 700 ampere cranks +.

in doing what I said, only you and boom! 150K miles and still going strong

(I hope I have not Jinx ...) but I just want to drive for 20 days ... I joined the army and report to camp soon!

I hope that helped!

EDIT: the smoke from?
EDIT: yes oil in my coolant mixed, but nothing happens.
