What's the difference between Remote Desktop and Terminal Services? - desktop services

I've seen in Windows Server 2K3, you do not need to install Terminal Services for Remote Desktop. Although the two acts (same?) Do not use Terminal Services, nothing special, and do not need more licenses? I'm confused. Thank you.

Remote Desktop uses Terminal Services, Windows Terminal Services, basically anything that allows the sharing of applications, Terminal Services RDP the background, all authentications, etc. as well. Remote Desktop runs on top of it.

I've always said that if the same thing as server and Terminal Server RDP always have the same meaning for me.

The license is the case with XP Pro, for example, you get a Terminal Services License Server means that a user can RDP to the computer.

With DPR in 2003 and new server-side OS and Microsoft Terminal Services can not be separated, that I am aware that I can not install Terminal Services RDP and need, and not vice versa, for the year 2000 I had I have both.
